Based upon the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) model, the groups focus on psychoeducation about mood and anxiety disorders and assisting patients to learn about their own thoughts, feelings and behaviour pattern.
“The content of the program was great. Being able to hear other people’s point of view. Getting you to come out of your comfort zone. Allowing everybody’s voice to be heard and hearing similar experiences and events in their lives”.
“The tools and strategies that are put forward as aids for dealing with depression/anxiety. One can learn from other’s points of view and their struggles with their illness. There is a sense that one is not alone, not unique or particularly odd. There is a sense of “belonging”.
“The facilitator was a kind caring man who approaches the groups session in a professional yet empathetic manner. Thank you.”
